Career guidance and job search

Under this pillar we offer: 1) career guidance; 2) training on writing CVs, job applications, business proposals and conducting market/business research, business networking; 3) internship support; sharing labour market information on available jobs, internships, scholarships, training programs, business opportunities, innovations, among others.

Skilling projects

We design and implement tailored (typically) short-cycle but high-impact practical training, including TVET, for graduates who wish to explore new areas of work beyond what they graduated with. While our scope is not limited to a specific trade, we are particularly keen on skilling related to green jobs and digital innovations. Reskilling is linked to career guidance and counselling during which a client takes a conscious decision to pursue new or related (to their old qualification) training to explore new opportunities.

Employment and labour market research

Evidence-based interventions are critical for effective labour market and youth employment interventions. Engaging with youths on a routine inevitably generates a lot of awareness and close understanding of different employment-related dynamics. But it also reveals crucial knowledge gaps on specific phenomenon that provoke research needs to better inform employment policy and youth employment programs. As part of the broader interest in promoting youth employment, CWA engages in in-house and collaborative research aimed at improving policy and interventions around youth employment across Africa.
